Melvin and Barbara Pyeatt History Scholarship

This scholarship is designated for undergraduate history majors not working towards a teaching certificate. Applicants should exhibit academic excellence, and should intend to continue their education in a graduate program with the intent of becoming a professional historian. Additional preference will be given to applicants seeking a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Arts with Honors. Selected recipients will be required to enroll full-time at the Plainview campus, and maintain a 3.25 or higher cumulative GPA as well as a 3.25 or higher GPA in history courses, and may be honored during the Spring Honors Chapel. This scholarship can be applied towards direct costs including tuition, fees, on-campus living expenses, and books charged to student accounts.
